Los Angeles

For long as long as I can remember, Los Angeles has a been a place that has piqued my interest. I’ve always been a fan movies so there has been a natural attraction to the place where a lot of my favorites were produced. Not to mention the incredible weather year round. I almost moved to Pasadena before I got the job with Leica in Boston. The timing wasn’t right and ultimately I think I made the right decision. I try to go as often as I can and fall in love more with every visit.

The weather is usually incredible in LA. You can go to the beach most of the year which is great for someone like me who loves to soak up the sun. The water is generally way to cold to swim in though. Even during the hottest times of year the water stays cold. It’s not like the warm waters I’m used to in the Gulf of Mexico or even the shallow waters that grace the New England shoreline.

A city is only as strong as the people who inhabit it and the people in LA certainly have a flair about them. I think that’s one of the biggest reasons I’m drawn to the metropolis. Working in the photo industry has introduced to so many creative people who call LA home.

LA is always alive no matter where you look. Colors, sounds and delicious smelling food litter the sun soaked landscape. Most people don’t think of Los Angeles as an architectural city like Chicago or even Boston, but take a walk through the neighborhoods and you’ll see that LA has its own flavor. The color that stretches across the basin is also unmatched and I challenge anyone to find me a place in the US that rivals it.
